Rapid-DEM: Rapid Topographic Updates through Satellite Change Detection and UAS Data Fusion

چکیده
As rapid urbanization occurs in cities worldwide, the importance of maintaining updated digital elevation models (DEM) will continue to increase. However, due cost generating high-resolution DEM over large spatial extents, temporal resolution DEMs is coarse many regions. Low-cost unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS) and data fusion provide a partial solution improving but do not identify which areas require updates. We present Rapid-DEM, framework that identifies prioritizes locations with high likelihood an urban topographic change target UAS acquisition up-to-date DEM. Change Detection for Updates of Vector Database through Region- Based Classification of Vhr Satellite Data
Until now, interpretation of aerial photographs is a standard tool for monitoring land cover change where fine spatial resolutions are required and this task is expensive and time-consuming. Though, from a spaceborne perspective, the VHR satellite data are, since 1999, capable to meet the mapping and monitoring needs of municipal and regional planning agencies. Indeed, these data from the senso...

An important component of any simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) system, as well as modern vision-aided navigation systems, is the ability to efficiently incorporate loop-closure measurements. EKF-SLAM and full-SLAM are, arguably, the two common approaches that have been developed over the years. The former maintains the observed landmarks and the current pose while marginalizing out ...
متن کاملRapid Land Cover Map Updates Using Change Detection and Robust Random Forest Classifiers
The paper evaluated the Landsat Automated Land Cover Update Mapping (LALCUM) system designed to rapidly update a land cover map to a desired nominal year using a pre-existing reference land cover map. The system uses the Iteratively Reweighted Multivariate Alteration Detection (IRMAD) to identify areas of change and no change. The system then automatically generates large amounts of training sa...
متن کاملRapid Change Detection and Text Mining
In this presentation we review and present a novel approach to text data mining and automatic text summarization. This modeling includes several steps. First, we apply a rapid change detection algorithm in data streams and documents, introduced in [1, 2]. It is based on ideas from image processing and especially on the Helmholtz Principle from the Gestalt Theory of human perception. Applied to ...
متن کاملDEM generation from satellite data
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are required for several tasks like generation of orthoimages, flood planning, erosion control, agriculture, generation of contour lines, visibility check, 3D-views and others. Mainly in developed countries DEMs are available, but not in any case like required. DEMs can be generated by traditional photogrammetry based on aerial photos if they are available and no...
